The Sahel Program was developed to support the growth of small-scale livestock production in the Sahel region. It will seek to transform the livelihoods of 500,000 small-scale farming households, or approximately 3.5 million people, including women and youth. It will improve the livelihoods and resiliency through integrated sheep and goat value chains by the year 2025. The actions that will be undertaken by this program will result in the development of strong, integrated markets and the creation of farmer-owned business hubs that will allow small ruminant farmers to gain access to services, information, inputs and markets that will enable them to earn higher and more sustainable incomes.
